Stem Kits by Post

Our Story

Stem Kits by Post sends a monthly box of experimentation to your letterbox.

Our service is ideal for anyone interested in the STEM subjects and can be of great benefit to those who are home-schooled or attend a school without the resources to offer hands-on scientific practicals.  We link to 9-1 GCSE subjects in the Sciences, Maths, Engineering and Computer Studies.

We also cater for schools wishing to run STEM/Electronics clubs, providing CLUB kits containing everything a school needs to do so, and we can supply TEACH kits which allows selected Science subjects to be taught in an hands-on way by non-Science stand-in teachers.

Our offering to PTAs and other clubs allows their members to benefit from subscription discounts whilst also earning commission for school/club funds on every box sent out.

Our Ownership.

Previously owned and operated by Real World Projects Limited which has been trading since 2006, STEM Kits by Post is now owned by STEM Kits Ltd and run by the same team.  Full company details are given on our Terms and Conditions page.

We are based in Lincolnshire, but send boxes to any address in England, Wales or Scotland.

Our Strategic Goal

We want to make hands-on experimentation available to everyone as we believe that this is the best way to learn about Science subjects.

Our Core Values

  • We want all our members to be happy with their purchase – we do not have a minimum term or tie-ins.  You can cancel at any time if not entirely happy.
  • We price our kits carefully.  We are often asked if cheaper kits are available (and a range of these are available at our sister site www.componentstore.co.uk ), but we need to get the complexity of the apparatus and components we send out right, so need to balance this with affordability.
  • Unlike most other monthly Science subscriptions available in the UK, our kits are designed, built, and distributed in the UK, use English terminology, and they are written with the UK 9-1 GCSE Science and Maths  syllabus firmly in mind.  We aim to supplement the knowledge students are learning in school, not confuse them.
  • We believe that learning should be fun!
  • We do not talk-down to the (predominately) young people using our kits.  We trust them to show responsible judgement and to ask for help from parents or carers if we point out any dangers they might not be comfortable with themselves.
  • We want to encourage an interest in experimentation and the Sciences in general, so we always try to include parts in our kits which can be used later for further independent experimentation and learning.
